About Azeem Oud
Azeem Oud is a melding of Indian culture with Arabic scents and French aesthetics. It is a scent that is golden, highly pleasant, intense, and beautiful; an extraordinary mix of traditions from around the world. The result is an aroma that combines the meaningful depth of Indian culture with the aggressive intensity and simplicity of Arabian perfumery with the delicate elegance, whispering charm, and romantic beauty of French fragrances.
In the ancient world, perfumery was an art form that united cultures. Azeem Oud brings together traditions from around the world to create a scent that is simultaneously powerful and delicate, complex and simple. Through the use of nearly forgotten ingredients of the highest quality combined with innovative distillation techniques Azeem Oud aspires to return one to the ancient roots of perfumery as well as revitalize olfactory experience with a modern twist.
About Perfumer
Abdul Azeem is a visionary. He's spent the past several years hunting for the world's most rare and valuable oil: agarwood. Agarwood is a tree that grows in Yemen, India, Indonesia and Malaysia—a tree with a rich history of use as an incense and perfume resin. But it's also incredibly difficult to harvest: it takes over 100kg of dried agarwood to yield just one kilogram of oil (worth up to $10,000 per kilogram). Abdul Azeem sourced his agarwood from different regions around the world, chopped it up and dusted it with tiny amounts of three other types of single-origin oils. He then cooked his agarwood for several hours at low temperatures until all three oils were released into the mix. Finally, he filtered out any remaining solids and bottled his oil in small batches.
